Welcoming Jungsoo
We are delighted to welcome Jungsoo Moon to our research group! Recognized as the top student in his department, Jungsoo brings a strong academic background in Solid-State Physics and Computer Science. He thoughtfully designed his undergraduate program with a clear focus on the practical applications of AI in materials science. He is currently working on a computational algorithm project, building a solid foundation for solving optimization problems and exploring Topological Neural Networks in the context of materials discovery. We look forward to Jungsoo’s future contributions to the team and to the advancement of AI4Mat research. Welcome, Jungsoo!
Dr. Juhwan Kim Joins as Postdoctoral Researcher
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Juhwan Kim has joined the Meta Lab as a postdoctoral researcher. Dr. Kim specializes in machine learning-based prediction of chemical reactions and material properties. He has extensive experience in applying artificial intelligence to scientific problems and has conducted advanced research in both academic and interdisciplinary settings. With his strong background and deep understanding of our research themes, Dr. Kim is expected to make meaningful contributions to our ongoing efforts to accelerate materials discovery through data-driven methods. We warmly welcome Dr. Kim to the Meta Lab!
Welcoming Sowon for AI x Nanoparticle
We are thrilled to officially welcome Sowon as a new master’s student at the Meta Lab! After completing a research internship with us in January and February, she began her graduate studies in March 2025. Sowon’s research focuses on predicting the synthesis of nanomaterials, aiming to bridge the gap between experimental outcomes and theoretical models. With her strong curiosity and drive to integrate data-driven approaches with materials synthesis, we look forward to her future contributions to our lab’s mission of advancing intelligent materials research. We are excited to welcome Jinuk Jang to our research group! Jinuk will be diving into the dynamic field of AI-driven material research, with a focus on perovskite solar cells. Professor Gu Participates in ‘Future Energy Industry Innovation Forum’
Professor Gu participated in the ‘Future Energy Industry Innovation Forum’ co-hosted by Jeonnam Province and KENTECH from December 17 to 18. The forum aimed to advance ‘Energy AI’ technologies for innovation in the future energy industry. Professor Gu, along with other KENTECH professors, delivered academic presentations on AI-based energy systems, drawing significant attention. The event highlighted AI’s role in optimizing power supply, transmission, and renewable energy management.
