WE VALUE

Passion: We expect you to have the drive for innovation and the self-discipline to follow through which are vital to research success. Top researchers are excited about their projects and work in the evening and weekends.

Inquisitive: You should drive for higher work efficiency and productivity. This involves reading books, following the latest articles, and taking online courses. We will focus on your self-growth, but you need to follow through to grow.

Leadership: Research is becoming more interdisciplinary, so inter/intragroup collaboration is essential. We expect you to take the initiative and work well as a team, supporting, collaborating, and leading others who will, in return, do the same for you.

Diversity: Different perspectives and ideas are key to innovations, so we welcome everyone with different backgrounds. Also, you are expected to work on diverse topics that may not be comfortable for you.

WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE

Data science experience: You worked with applied mathematics, probability, linear algebra, and machine learning. If you do not have these experience, we encourage you to take machine learning courses before applying (e.g. one offered in Coursera).

Coding experience: Experience in coding, especially python language, will boost start your research career. If you do not, we encourage you to complete tutorials and develop working codes in your own.

A degree in the field of chemistry, energy, and engineering is required to join our group.

APPLYING

POST-DOCTORAL ASSOCIATE

We are open to recruiting a strong post-doctoral scientist with leadership and a background in data science methods for energy engineering topics. Those with experience in PyTorch/TensorFlow are preferred. You are expected to mentor students and actively take initiatives. Please contact us with a cover letter, CV, and selected publications.

GRADUATE STUDENTS

The recruitment for the Ph.D. students are handled through the department, but feel free to contact us; we will point you in the right direction to prepare joining our group. Due to the training duration for our research, we expect you to be with us for at least 4 years.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Please email us with your CV, transcript, and two paragraphs on why you’d like to join our group. We expect at least 24 weeks of commitment as a lot of used skills are not covered at the undergraduate level.
